The cartoon below shows how both sides of the “Cold War” were trying to beat the other through non-conventional tactics. It was not a classic war where both sides were shooting and killing each other, but more trying to create economic failure and ruin the countries trading and economic life. The cartoon more specifically shows how Dwight D. Eisenhower and Winston Churchill, the teammates on the NATO side, and Stalin and Fidel Castro, the members of the Communist nation. It shows how both sides are fighting for control and how one side wants to break down the wall while the other wants to build it up higher. It also shows how close the world was to a nuclear obliteration and total destruction in the search for more power.
